Dr. Esther Andrés Montecatini teaches introductory, intermediate, and advanced Spanish language and literature courses at the University of Oklahoma. She has also taught English as a second language courses. She joined OU in the fall of 2013 to complete her M.A. and Ph.D. while teaching.
She holds a B.A. in English Philology from the Universidad de Valencia, Spain, an M.Ed. in Teaching Foreign Languages from the Universidad Católica de Valencia, Spain, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Spanish and Hispanic Studies from The University of Oklahoma.
Her academic interests include: second language acquisition, literature, women and gender studies, film and media studies, intersectionality, and the fantastic and horror in literature and film.
She enjoys travelling, listening to music, watching movies, exercising, drawing, playing with her dogs, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
